I am Iron Man

While eating dinner directly before going to see "Iron Man" last night Pete and I had a discussion about music in movies and books and how much of the time songs or artists are meant to substitute for actual character and/or plot and/or setting development. Iron Man very pleasantly surprised us by not using the Sabbath Song until the ending credits, and even then it was just music, no lyrics. So much more appropriate than most directors in Hollywood who would have used it at every conceivable moment, thus ruining most battle scenes.

Other than the musical elements the rest of the movie was great! I haven't been much impressed by superhero movies lately and finally another good one arrived! Rock! \o/
Seriously, I enjoyed the plot (though the whole beginning did drag a bit for me, but it was relatively important so I'm not really complaining.) And as a girl who likes Mech I was pretty awed by the shiny shiny movie technology. I did have some political issues with the movie, but superhero comics have always tended a little towards propaganda, I'm not going to let that stop me from enjoying the movie overall.
